Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons extra finely ground dark roast coffee
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
- Combine cold water, maple syrup, and crushed cardamom pods in a cezve (Turkish coffee pot)
- Add the finely ground coffee and salt to the water. **Do not stir**
- Place the cezve over medium-low heat
- When the coffee begins to sink and the water warms, gently stir once to combine
- Watch carefully as foam develops on top
- When the foam rises to the top of the pot (before boiling), remove from heat
- Let rest for 30 seconds, then return to heat
- Repeat this process 2-3 times to develop proper foam
- Pour into small cups, letting grounds settle before serving
